Photos AND Trailer from The Wachowski Brothers’ Upcoming Movie Speed Racer!

The Wachowski Brothers (‘The Matrix’) and Joel Silver (‘V for Vendetta’) are filming ‘Speed Racer,’ remaking the 1960s hit Americanized Japanese animated hit TV series. This live-action movie will star Emile Hirsch, Christina Ricci, Susan Sarandon, and John Goodman. In an interesting twist, ‘Lost’ star Matthew Fox will play Racer X, while Scott Porter will play Rex Racer, Speed Racer’s brother. (Everyone knows that Racer X is Speed’s brother.) And yes, there will be an actual chimp.

Like 2004’s Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, Speed Racer is being filmed almost entirely in front of a green screen. You can tell by the incredibly rich colors in the photos above.
