Luxury Cars For Brothers And Sisters. An iTunes Feast. No Way Out.

Audi Expecting

ABC’s “Brothers And Sisters” audience must be affluent, status-conscious, and tired of walking. Last night’s epiode served up television commercials for auto-makers Mercedes, Volvo, Audi, Lexus, BMW, and Kia. I’m not sure how Kia snuck in there, but it was a stroke of genius - guilt by association, as it were. Speaking of genius, my friends and I have been talking about how freaky - but in a good way - this Audi TV commercial is.

The other interesting item is how many TV commercials are available on iTunes - for free, of course. Audi, maker of (my favorite,) the Audi TT, has the Audi of America “Audi Vodcast.” Others, like BMW are taking advantage of the new platform to create “magazines.” BMW does a nice job, and an OK job helping you get to their main Internet site. Lexus serves up what looks like an internal corporate site (from within iTunes! Bad idea.) You have to enter your dealer code and associate ID. Strange. As usual, the navigation of Apple’s iTunes store is horrific. A timely analogy would be “Navigating Apple’s iTunes store is like trying to find your way through a house of mirrors.”
