Briefly: National Underwear Day is Today! Times Square Photos.

While last week we learned that National Men’s Grooming Day Is Friday, August 17th, today we learn that August 7th is National Underwear Day, at least, according to FreshPair.com, who created this (brilliant) marketing ploy in 2003.

Crowds lined up in Times Square despite the brutal 90 degree heat to catch a glimpse of the (mostly) male models on the catwalk in the heart of Manhattan. Two blocks north, on 45th and Broadway, FreshPair pitched their tent (and not the only ones, to be sure.) For those on their lunch hour willing to stand in line, a free pair of underwear, bottled water, and, a quick chat with the models was in store. By two o’clock, between the heat, the humidity, and the crowds, the models and PR folks were a bit tired, but who could blame them?
