Best Manhattan Christmas Movies!
It’s the end of the year, the Holiday Season, the top-ten and the best-of lists season, so I thought I would help you find the best movies for this time of year. In order, here are my favorite Christmas-themed movies set (more or less) in Manhattan:
- Scrooged (1988) Bill Murray, Karen Allen
- Christmas in Connecticut (1945) Barbara Stanwyck, Dennis Morgan, Sidney Greenstreet
- Bell, Book and Candle (1959) James Stewart, Kim Novak, Jack Lemmon
- The Hudsucker Proxy (1994) Tim Robbins, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Paul Newman, Charles Durning
- Hannah and Her Sisters (1986) Michael Caine, Mia Farrow, Dianne Wiest, Woody Allen, Bobby Short
- The Thin Man (1934) William Powell, Myrna Loy, Maureen O’Sullivan
- Miracle on 34th Street (1947) Maureen O’Hara, John Payne, Edmund Gwenn
- When Harry Met Sally… (1989) Billy Crystal, Meg Ryan, Carrie Fisher
- My Favorite Year (1982) Peter O’Toole, Mark Linn-Baker, Joseph Bologna, Bill Macy, Lainie Kazan
- Metropolitan (1990) Chris Eigeman, Taylor Nichols, Edward Clements

So, fire up the cider, get out those ginger bread cookies, turn on the tree lights, grab the remote control, and have your own Manhattan Movie Marathon.
Did I miss your favorites? Let me know, please.
Merry Christmas!
